But the 3000GT VR-4 was definitely worth it if only because insanity. 320HP out of a 3L V6, 4 wheel steering, AWD, a retractable hard top, and a retractable hard top. Did I mention a retractable hard top? It had one. Of course, it cost about as much as an NA 5 speed supra (attractive, bulletproof GT for the commute) and RX7 R3 (incredibly fun weekend/track day car) combined, so no one with much sense would have bought one.

Remember when this company mattered!

They probably matter in the reefer truck world or something... (Reefer here refers to refrigerator trucks.)

Haha probably. They make so much commercial gear.
Remember how cool the Eclipse was with younger buyers in the 90s? Then it got bloated and dumb.

I'm sure many monteros/pajeros are still reefer trucks

Funny thing is I was behind one on my way to get dinner. Not the coolest one but that Fast and Furious Gen Spyder.

Haha was it riced out?

Surprisingly not. It was the stock silver and looked to be in pretty good shape. I was glad for that.

One of my neighbors bought one for his sorority going daughter back when it was new. White with tan interior. Cool car and cool chick.

it would be hard to find a stock one that's in good shape these days

Especially where I live in Upstate NY where we drive on salt and not asphalt in the winter. Probably was someone who cares about it and uses it as his/her good weather car and stores it in winter.

the FD track specials were the R1 and R2. I almost bought an R1 many years ago. R2 has a slightly softer suspension.
A few other things the VR-4 had: tunable exhaust, active aerodynamics, adjustable suspension.

Salt is so scary! I'm in So Cal so I never see it. It makes everything rust!

Yeah, that's why it was surprising to see this car is such good condition.Wonder how the guy with the Ghibli will look like if he keeps it out all year.

I think I would just drive a beater most of the year and a sports car during the summer. Why drive a Maser over salt?

Don't think they would. I think they put the GT away last winter.

Ah, got it

That's pretty awesome. And of all the "rich girl" cars, this has to be one of the best.

Yeah, the list really went on and on. And I don't know why I thought it was R3...

Late model VR-4s look and sound so good, though!
